I am a wife and devoted Christian and I love serving others. I feel grateful to God that I am able to use my expertise and character to serve expecting women and families during this transition of life. I enjoy spending time outdoors, and learning anything about nutrition and healthy cooking. I have an undergraduate degree in biology so I’m very scientific minded and love researching the evidence-based information especially when it merges with my passion for pregnancy and childbirth.
I began my journey with an interest in women's health and particularly how our bodies function naturally; this united into a passion for the optimal functioning of pregnancy and birth. Once I began my studies, I further saw a need for a full spectrum of support for these women and families. A woman's birth experience can impact her emotions, her mind, and her body for the rest of her life. And it is my belief that she be provided that support to have the birth where she feels heard, respected, and nurtured throughout. It gives me joy to see couples feel empowered to be their own advocates and have confidence in the birthing process.
My practice includes protecting the intimate space of the laboring woman by helping to create a safe laboring environment and thus allowing her to focus on her body. I provide evidence-based informational support and affirmations so couples feel empowered to be their own advocates in labor. I have absolute faith in a woman's body to instinctively know how to birth her baby. Families have said that they can count on me to pray for a need, encourage them in the most intense moments, and to be generous with my time and resources. Every birth I attend is supported with informational, physical, spiritual, and emotional support. With a great support team anyone can have an amazing birth.
